The best time to visit the Tunisian desert is usually from October to April, when daytime temperatures are more comfortable for tours, camel rides, hiking and bivouacs.

Best Months

October, November, February, March and April are excellent for most travelers. December and January can be beautiful but nights are colder, especially in open bivouacs.

Summer Travel

June to September can be extremely hot in the Sahara. If you travel in summer, choose shorter activities, air-conditioned transport and avoid long midday exposure.

For Camps and Bivouacs

For overnight camps, bring a warm layer even in mild seasons. Desert temperature differences between day and night can be surprising.
